My round-up of foodie favourites this month includes some delicious Korean cooking sauces as well as the opportunity to win a Spiralizer kindly provided by a family-run cookstore. Read on to find out more:
TILDA*Tilda Basmati rice got in touch this month to let me know about their 'Be at Your Best' campaign which saw the brand partner with nutritionist Dr Sarah Schenker, lifestyle blogger Faya Nilsson (Fitness On Toast) and life coach Carole Ann Rice to give tips on how to stay on top of your game this Spring.
After taking a little energy quiz, it turns out I have a 'Sustained Energy' need which indicates that I'm particularly susceptible to giving in to quick fixes to overcome energy dips (HELLO 4PM CAFFIENE). This actually isn't any good for me and only leads to sugar imbalances so they advise eating lots of brocolli, spinach and wholegrain rice for energy!
YOGIYO! COOKING SAUCES*
I discovered that I'm a big fan of Korean food after trips to On the Bab and Superstar BBQ last year so I was excited to get cooking with these Yogiyo sauces. You may even recognise them from Dragon's Den! Created by Ben Ansah and his partner Sue Youn, the sauces celebrate a traditional Korean ingredient- Gochu Jang, a fermented chilli paste. I've used my sauces as a marinated for meats as well as a stir-fry sauce - they've got a brilliant spicy taste without being too over-powering. Look out for bottles in Sainsbury's!
GRACE ALOE REFRESH*I tried out these bottles of Aloe Vera juice this month, made with real bits of aloe vera and fruit juice. I HATE coconut water so was a bit apprehensive about these but as they come in different flavours I was actually pleasantly surprised (mango is my favourite but you can also get Original and Strawberry). Each bottle contains 100% of your recommended Vitamin C intake and less than 100 calories so a thumbs up from me. Available in Tesco, Asda and Co-op.
The lovely team at Steamer Trading, a family run cook shop in Alfriston, sent me out a spiralizer* so I could experiment with a couple of new recipes this month. I've been having pesto and courgetti for dinner when I'm in the mood for something light and there's plenty of recipes in my Lean in 15 cookbook so it's been put to good use! They've also given me an extra Spiraliser so you have the chance of winning your own - simply enter below!
